The first MVAI Trip

The Holocaust was one of the 20th century’s most horrific events, leading to the deaths of millions of European Jews, Roma, Poles, and others during WWII. MVAI invites you to join a trip to Krakow, Poland, for a long weekend at the beginning of December steeped in the history of the Holocaust along with Krakow’s Jewish community.

Together with the Krakow’s Jewish Community Centre MVAI has planned a two day, three night Krakow trip meant to help foster understanding of the Holocaust and the experiences of the Jewish community in Poland.

Activities and Schedule

Our trip will take place between the 1st and 4th of December 2017. We planned different activities in Krakow in order to give you the chance to learn more about Jewish life in Kraków and Poland before, during and after the Holocaust. You will have enough time to explore the city by yourself or with other participants next to our planned activities.

This is our schedule:

Friday 1st December

17:00 Shabbat dinner hosted by Krakow’s Jewish Community Centre

Saturday 2nd December

10:30 – 16:30 – Private guided tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp and lunch in Oświęcim

Sunday 3rd December

(Time TBA) Private guided walking tours of the former Krakow ghetto, the Oscar Schindler Museum, and Krakow’s Old Town

Monday 4th December

(Time TBA) Meeting with local Jewish community leaders to talk about contemporary Jewish life in Krakow

Let your friends know if you are interested in joining the trip by being part of the Facebook event.

Accomodation and Costs

We have space for 30 participants for the trip. Shared accommodation is available for 270 SEK for all three nights, but private accommodation must be arranged by the participant.

The cost of transportation within Poland, guided tours, museum entry fees and the Shabbat dinner will be divided among participants. Those costs will not exceed 1500 SEK (travel expenses to Poland and back to Sweden not included).

MVAI is searching for possible funding in order to decrease those costs. Therefore, we cannot state a fixed price for the trip in total. We will update you about any new information!

Participants are responsible for their own journey to and from Krakow, as well as their own food and accommodation.

Please be aware that this long weekend includes extended periods of walking, which may be difficult for some.

There is no possibility to apply anymore since the deadline was on the 15th of November.

Send us an Email ( or contact us on Facebook! We will come back to you as soon as possible.
